Our team recently completed works at Tantangara Creek, Kosciuszko National Park, delivering a vital weir project as part of Snowy Hydro’s aquatic biosecurity strategy.
The Snowy 2.0 scheme will connect and transfer flows between Tantangara Reservoir and Talbingo Reservoir via a new tunnel. To prevent invasive fish migration and to protect local species including the Stocky Galaxias, a new weir was designed to be installed along Tantangara Creek. Our team was engaged to deliver construction of the weir and ancillary works, including an upgrade to the primary access trail, and temporary works, including bridge construction and diversion works. To facilitate the weir construction, gravity diversion pipework was constructed to divert flows around the work area and pumps were used to manage groundwater ingression between the gravity diversion and the weir location.
Delivered ahead of schedule, the project achieved great environmental outcomes and feedback from the client, “Leed was great to work with throughout the works and in preparation for works commencing. I’d highly recommend Leed’s services to others due to their commitment to maintaining relationships”.
