Undergraduate Internship Program

Leed offers undergraduate students a practical work placement experience. Students will gain exposure and insight into civil construction whilst developing skills through on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced industry leaders. Students are given opportunities to visit project sites and gain experience in water treatment plants, water storage reservoirs, tanks and dams, bulk and detailed earthworks, structural concrete and road works.

Partnering with universities, Leed also offers a six-month work placement, enabling students to apply the skills gained at university to the workplace and consolidate their learning. It allows students to gain a greater depth of work experience and enough time to produce tangible examples of completed works for their CVs and portfolios.

During this program, the students will:

  • Implement meaningful and structured projects
  • Translate the skills, knowledge and theory gained at university into professional practice
  • Contribute to problem-solving
  • Consolidate their project planning and management skills
  • Advance their professional skills, including communication, time management and teamwork

Candidate eligibility requirements for Undergraduate Positions are:

  • Full working rights in Australia during the placement period.
  • Australian C Class or above Driver’s Licence
  • Enrolled and undertaking studies in second- through to final year students in Bachelor’s or higher (Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineer disciplines)
