Background

Helping to realise Tamworth Regional Council’s goal of creating durable water infrastructure, Leed was engaged to complete the bulk earthworks and construction of a 10 ML water reservoir, associated pipelines and access roads at Peppercorn Lane, Moore Creek in NSW.

The additional 10 ML of water storage will support future residential growth in the Tamworth region. A significant number of soil nails, drainage installations, fibrecrete, and shotcrete walls were required for ground stabilisation. We utilised our extensive suite of plant to complete the embankment stabilisation and excavation for the 36 m diameter tank. We also used a crane lift to carefully place each precast panel for the water tank into position, ensuring the panels fit seamlessly together to create a robust and durable structure.

Our works also involved a new site access road and hardstand, approximately 1 km DN375 watermain extension, 30,000 m3 bulk earthworks and embankment stabilisation, electrical and SCADA, 293 m3 base pour and inlet and outlet pipework.
