We have been awarded the contract to deliver the new Gloucester Sewage Treatment Plant for MidCoast Council. This is a significant wastewater infrastructure project that will support the Gloucester and Barrington communities in regional New South Wales for years to come.
Valued at $43 million, the project will replace the existing sewage treatment plant, which was originally constructed in the 1930s and is nearing the end of its operational life. The new facility (see image) will provide a modern wastewater treatment solution designed to meet current environmental standards while supporting the needs of a growing population.
Construction of the new Gloucester Sewage Treatment Plant will include:
- 70,000m³ of earthworks
- 3,000m³ of FRP concrete
- 3,500m of pipework
- installation of process treatment systems
- electrical upgrades
- testing and commissioning.
The existing treatment plant remaining fully operational throughout construction, maintaining uninterrupted wastewater services for the community.
The project further strengthens Leed’s experience in delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects in partnership with local government and utility clients across Australia.
We look forward to working with MidCoast Council to successfully deliver this important project for the Gloucester and Barrington communities.
