An extra 36 million litres of potable water is now available for the Shepparton community following our completion of the new Shepparton Clear Water Storage Tank.
The 36.2ML post-tensioned concrete tank stands at 74 metres in diameter and 10 metres high and set a new construction record for Leed. The project featured our largest-ever single concrete pour—900 m³ of concrete placed continuously overnight using 127 concrete truck deliveries.
The base of the tank required 25 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 29 tonnes of post-tensioning cable. The tank walls were then constructed using 48 on-site precast concrete panels, each weighing 37 tonnes, with 23 installed in a single day.
We’re proud to have partnered with Goulburn Valley Water to deliver this important project, helping support the water security of Shepparton and surrounding communities for years to come. A shoutout also to our suppliers and subcontractors for helping to bring this important project to life.
Beyond the engineering, this project delivered lasting social outcomes.
Through our partnership with specialist recruitment, labour hire and registered GTO (Group Training Organisation) SheForce, we helped create a pathway into construction for trainee site administrator Teigan Schoots. We proudly celebrated Teigan completing her traineeship and Certificate IV in Business recently— the first SheForce trainee to achieve this milestone.
Through another valuable partnership with Vivid, we were able to create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability.
