Background
The Nelligen Water Supply and Sewerage Scheme project enhances water reliability in the Nelligen community. It eliminates reliance on tank water and outdated septic tanks, guarantees a secure water supply, and improves sanitation, even during dry spells.
Leed constructed Stages One and Two of the project with the team responsible for all Civil and Structural aspects, ensuring quality outcomes.
Stage 1 included the design and construction of two reservoirs and associated works at two separate sites, Bay Ridge Drive and Old Nelligen Road. The scope consists of two reinforced concrete tanks 12m in diameter and 8.8 m in height, each holding 880kL of water.
Stage 2 of the project includes constructing a water and sewer pumping station, laying 14km of sewer and potable water pipelines, and connecting Batemans Bay to Nelligen for water transfer. Scope items also featured the construction of wet wells, emergency storage, pump station buildings, sewer and water rising mains, pressure gravity sewer mains, valving, receiving manholes, odour control systems, and a potable water pumping station at Bay Ridge. It also entailed civil, mechanical and electrical works, power supply, SCADA programming, testing, and commissioning for improved water and sewage infrastructure.
Outcomes
Leed engaged approximately 20 locally based suppliers and subcontractors on the project, including specialist subcontractors for the roof and electrical scope. We also worked with local suppliers to assist and collaborate with our teams, including concrete and quarry supply, local plant and crane hire, survey and geotechnical testing, vegetation and tree removal, and general site services.
