Precast Concrete Water Tanks

Design and Construction

Client: Various
Location: NSW, SA
Year: 2007

Leed have undertaken the design and construction of a number of precast concrete, post tensioned tanks in both metropolitan and remote locations.

The precast tanks offer advantages over traditional steel or insitu tank construction due to:

  • Cost
  • Ease and speed of construction
  • Durability over steel tanks
  • Panels can be manufactured off or on-site
  • Panels can be manufactured whilst earthworks and base slab is being prepared
  • Minimum personnel required for construction

Construction consists of earthworks preparation, the pouring of a post tensioned floor slab, manufacture and installation of wall panels, construction of stitch joints between the wall panels, post tensioning of the tank walls then construction of the steel roof and installation of associated pipework.
