Lower Lakes Pipeline
Monday, December 15, 2008The Design and Construction of the Lower Lakes Irrigation pipeline objective is to provide an irrigation water supply pipeline to irrigation communities extending from Langhorne Creek to Currency Creek being impacted by the declining conditions within Lake Alexandrina and Lake Albert.
An irrigation water supply pipeline has been approved by SA Government for construction, comprising:
- Trunk main from Jervois to Langhorne Creek; and
- Water supply main to supply customers from Langhorne Creek to Currency Creek.
The pipeline is critical to the irrigators of the areas to be served by the new pipeline and as such the deadline for completion of the project is a significant factor.
The works associated with the design construction of approximately 79 km of buried pipeline (various sizes and types), three pump stations, customer connections, pipe terminations and connection to the existing irrigation infrastructure.
